Decorated in pastel shades typical Royal Worcester's distinctive Majolica glazes. This is the only known Majolica example of this design.

A similar example in Parian is displayed at the Royal Worcester Museum

In greek mythology Medea is the daughter of the King Abets of Colchis, a niece  of Circe and the granddaughter of the sun god Helios.
